Extended to a two day conference for 2012, this annual event brings together health professionals from a variety of different disciplines to explore topics, share experiences and debate the issues at the heart of effective delivery of health partnership projects in low and middle-income countries.

Gaining a better understanding of what works well and what doesn’t is central to building partnerships for global health. The 2012 programme will examine the principles of health partnership working, debate the added value of working within a partnership framework and explore some of the challenges and benefits involved.

The two day event is designed to be informative, practical and interactive. Sessions will provide ample opportunity for participants from across the UK and further afield to share their experiences and to interrogate putting the principles of partnership working into practice.

Day 1: Following what promises to be a lively debate around the value of volunteering within partnerships, there will be talks from UK and developing country institution representatives on the mutual benefits of partnership working. This will be followed by a series of afternoon breakout sessions examining the complexities of competing demands, multi-disciplinary working, sustainability and equality.

Day 1 will also see the return of the poster competition and a new photograph challenge 

Day 2: A series of workshops will examine some of the cross-cutting issues most Health Partnerships are likely to encounter as part of their development projects.   These workshops will provide a  unique opportunity to learn from leading experts and colleagues working in the following areas:

• Medical Equipment Donation
• Patient Safety
• Non-Communicable Diseases(NCDs)
• Engaging students and trainees
